Start with your stance and bell placement
So we’re going to go over a few basics and the most basic of basic kettlebell deadlifts. You want to start with this before you get into any type of snatches — kettlebell swing, single arm swings. This is the one that I start off everyone.
All right, so first things first, we’re going to make sure that we’re planting our feet. Spots are only at the part, right in between the bell is very imperative that the bell is closer to the person, closer to the midline.
Is going to be in between the in step. And how are you going to really Mark this? Is that the kettlebell handle is going to be more towards the inside of your foot.
And as you see, I don’t have shoes on. I liked it. I prefer to do kettlebell without shoes because my foot is nice and flat and I get to build up my procieptors at the bottom of my foot.
Now hinge with back straight and core engaged
Alright, so once again, standing at about scrolling through park, we’re going to go to a hinge, putting your hip back, taking two fingers. Once again, take yourself into a hinge, not a squat, but into an hinge.
- Shoulders are going to be rolled back.
- Grab the handle.
- Squeeze driving from the heel of your foot.
- Stand big thrust forward, back down.
- Once again, driving from the Hill of your foot.
- Big thrust forward.
What we’re working is glutes, hamstring, core and a few other structures, but those are going to be the key points that you want to focus on.
Just like with the kettlebell swing or any type of posterior chain movement, you want to make sure that once again, core is braced and we’re using the proper tools that are the proper muscles, which would be lower back, glutes, hamstrings.
Let me know how I can help!
