What lead me into FITNESS and why I developed the Wheel of Movement (WOM)

At the age of 21, I injured my lower back practicing and teaching army combatives; a form of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

However, that did not stop me. I continued my military path of an unstoppable soldier.

Eventually, I had to see a back specialist. My diagnosis - two herniations of my  L5-S1 vertebrae. It was well into my second year in the army and a good predictor of how my career would end.

Hint: Before I was ready.

In 2012, that changed.

I was now medically discharged, overweight, and depressed.

That was my "rock bottom."

I began to seek ways to lose weight, improve my back's stability and manage my mental health.

With discipline and study, I started to see progress. I was beginning to transform myself and my life.

And that was my catalyst -- I wanted to help others who felt as hopeless as I did.

I spent years learning, developing my craft -- and failing more times than I’d like to admit.

What did I learn? There are 4 pillars I live my life by. I categorized and labeled each pillar in effort to pass on my knowledge:

Release  |   Mobilize  |   Fortify  |   Recovery

These pillars are my Wheel Of Motion. My WOM.

It is my daily reminder to move; to progress physically and mentally. Your wheel. Your WOM is a daily practice of 4 areas of focus that worked me and many others.

WOM is also a series of methods that culminate in being a better human.

Build your WOM. Practice consistency. Drive results.

What is your WOM?
